Helen and Gordon were active in Our Lady of Peace Church in Santa Clara and attended many military functions including retired officer's luncheons and Navy reunions. The couple's international travels included Italy, Germany and a visit to Helen's mother's childhood home in Ireland. Helen also enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and bird watching.
